120202mg - Africa - The Splitting of the baby - King Solomon's parable

Description & Background

The hugely anticipated election of a new African Union Commission chairperson ended in a deadlock  after the incumbent Jean Ping and South African Home Affairs Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma failed to garner two thirds of the votes. The deadlock forced the AU to postpone the polls to its next summit to be held in Malawi in July.
